Myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery, defined by a postoperative elevation of high-sensitive Troponin T (hsTnT), is associated with cardiovascular events and mortality. The aim of this study was to investigate in 1010 high risk patients, if different cut-offs and courses of hsTnT can differentiate the risk of cardiac or non-cardiac complications after elective non-cardiac surgery. They were defined by a Clavien-Dindo classification in the nine domains of the Postoperative Morbidity Survey.
