Die Thrombozytopenie gilt als charakteristisches Merkmal der Präeklampsie (PE). Für diese Arbeit wurde erstmalig der Mmp-Index als Maß für die Depolarisation der mitochondrialen Membran in Thrombozyten von PE-Erkrankten untersucht. Er zeigte sich bei PE signifikant vermindert, erholte sich nach der Entbindung und korrelierte mit der Erkrankungsschwere. Der Mmp-Index könnte ein frühes Apoptosestadium in Thrombozyten abbilden, als Marker für die Krankheitsaktivität und den inflammatorischen Status dienen und damit zum pathophysiologischen Verständnis der Thrombozytopenie bei PE beitragen.     «

Thrombocytopenia is considered a characteristic feature of the severe pregnancy disorder preeclampsia (PE). In this study, Mmp index was investigated as a measure of mitochondrial membrane depolarisation in platelets from patients with PE for the first time. It was found to be significantly decreased in PE, to have recovered after delivery and to correlate with disease severity. The Mmp index could represent an early apoptotic stage in platelets, serve as a marker for disease activity and inflammatory status in PE, and thus contribute to the pathophysiological understanding of thrombocytopenia in PE.     «
