Description:
In this repository, we provide the instance set and implementation code of Dynamic Reconfigurations of Matrix Assembly Layouts (DRMAL) problem. In DRMAL, the matrix-shaped layout of an original equipment manufacturing facility is designed while guiding operational-level decisions. The repository consists of input data and the solver codes of our solution approach.
The input data includes new precedence graphs, normalized task times, models, task set of each models, and demand of each model during the planning horizon. The problem considers a heterogeneous product-portfolio, and the precedence graphs and task times are generated from the benchmark Scholl (1993) data set as described in the original DRMAL paper. The demand of each model is generated following the German Federal Motor Transport Authority's (KBA) FZ28 car registration data, again described in the original DRMAL paper.

Method of data assessment:
The data is generated in the context of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM), i.e., car manufacturing. The data generation process is provided in the original DRMAL paper (Bayraktar & Grunow & Kolisch, 2023, working paper).
Key words:
Flexible manufacturing systems, facilities planning and design, multi-objective optimization, Benders decomposition, matrix assembly layouts
