The Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) scene is dominated by plants with Light Water Reactor (LWR), mainly in Pressurized Water construction (PWR), with enriched uranium as fuel. In addition, there are NPPs operable with natural uranium (NUR), two of which identical in their basic concept to LWR - PWR, but not in their residual heat removal chains (RHRC) for heat removal after shutdown. The RHRC of one of the two units contains a new, innovative system. After presenting the history of NUR, description, analysis and optimization suggestions for this system form the core of the work.
