- Die Studie verglich die Sicherheit und Effektivität zweier endoskopischer Verfahren in der Behandlung früher Barrett-Neoplasien des Ösophagus. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass die wasserstrahlunterstützte endoskopische Submukosa-Dissektion (WESD) im Vergleich zur endoskopischen Mukosaresektion im Erzielen einer R0 Resektion überlegen war. - Translated abstract:
- The study compared the safety and effectivity of two endoscopic methods for the treatment of neoplastic Barrett`s oesophagus. In terms of need for surgery, neoplasia remission and recurrence, water-jet assisted submucosal dissection (WESD) and mucosal resection were both highly effective for endoscopic resection of early Barrett neoplasia. WESD achieved a higher R0 resection rate, but was more time-consuming and severe adverse events can infrequently occur.
