The yields for wheat and maize in Bavaria from 1991-2015 were analysed and statistical yield models were developed to predict yields until 2045 due to altered climatic conditions. Therefore, it was tested whether the inclusion of phenology and a time variable aggregation of factors improved the modelled results. The models for wheat achieved a higher model quality. The inclusion of phenology did not improve the models. Good model results were obtained with monthly aggregated factors. The results of the yield projections showed that, on average, the yields of wheat and maize did not decline initially. However, the unfavorable climatic conditions until mid-century will lead to an average yield reduction of 10%.
