This dissertation presents three essays on the future of transport analyzing organizational strategy and customer behavior. The qualitative approach provides a critical organizational viewpoint and an understanding of how to cope with challenges arising from transformational change. The quantitative approach is an in-depth analysis of customers’ technology acceptance regarding self-driving cars. Overall, this thesis contributes by examining multiple actors involved in a socio-technical transition, as well as their influence on the emergence and acceptance of innovative technologies.
