The aim of this study was to compare modern techniques of radiotherapy like IMRT with conventional 3D conformal radiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer. The main points of interest were toxicity due to the treatment, dosimetric parameters and the outcome of the patients. For that purpose there were several groups of patients retrospectively analyzed in consideration of these characteristics. Eventually the results were statistically evaluated and discussed in terms of possible correlations.
