This cumulative dissertation discusses the achieved replication of natural templates with nanometer precision while preserving the entire structural hierarchy, as well as the deposition of substances in plant matter with the aim of altering their properties. In this context, the possibility of recording small-angle scattering patterns in the transmission electron microscope is discussed. Finally, a structural parameter for the characterization of nanoscale structural order is introduced, using examples from own works.
