Abstract:
Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard [3] investigate supOU processes as volatility models. Empirical volatility has tails heavier than normal, long memory in the sense that the empirical autocorrelation function decreases slower than exponential, and exhibits volatility clusters on high levels.
