The increasing individualization and division of value creation processes entails a significant growth of complexity in planning, management and control along supply chains. In cross-company collaborations, enterprises face the challenge of applying the ideal coordination mechanisms and instruments between the extremes of hierarchical and market coordination. The thesis attends to the analysis of possible options to improve cross-company collaboration within the Supply Chain Management. Based on a theoretical and empirical analysis, a model was developed and type-specific recommendations were derived to measure and improve the collaboration quality during establishing, operating and controlling the collaboration. The model integrates the project and partner perspective and thus considers both hard facts and soft facts for optimizing the collaboration.
