21st century agriculture is at the intersection of several global challenges, of which the supply of a growing world population with food and renewable resources, climate change and the protection of natural resources are arguably the most pressing. Agricultural politicians around the world are reacting to these challenges with the (further) development of agricultural and environmental policy measures. In many cases, however, there is a lack of empirical evidence on farm responses to such measures. This dissertation aims to narrow this research gap.
