This dissertation addresses three problems in the field of robotic process automation (RPA). First, a generalisable method for identifying and prioritising RPA process candidates is introduced. Second, the impact of RPA on management accounting is examined and evidence is presented that RPA constitutes a suitable automation solution for management accounting tasks. However, the overall impact is only minor. Third, the extent to which artificial intelligence is complementary and integrable into RPA as well as the resulting effects on the applicability of RPA is investigated.      «

Die vorliegende Dissertation befasst sich mit drei verschiedenen Fragestellungen im Bereich Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Im ersten Aufsatz wird eine quantifizierbare Methode zur Identifizierung und Priorisierung von Prozesskandidaten auf Grundlage von formalisierten Prozessauswahlkriterien eingeführt. Im zweiten Aufsatz werden die Auswirkungen von RPA auf Management Accounting untersucht. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen, dass RPA eine geeignete Lösung zur Automatisierung von Management Accounting Aufgaben darstellt, die Gesamtauswirkungen jedoch nur moderat sind. Der dritte Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit der Integrierbarkeit von künstlicher Intelligenz in RPA Lösungen.      «
