This dissertation investigates the influence of the Bavarian School Fruit Programm’s (SFS) on children’s fruit and vegetable (FV) consumption and the perception of FV-environment at the resp. children’s homes, based on Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory (1986). The data was collected via questionnaires filled in by children and parents. Longitudinal and cross-section analyses show that although an effect on the children’s perception of FV-environment was not identified, the Bavarian SFS has a significant impact on children’s FV consumption. Hence, a continuation of the SFS is recommended.
