Due to the complexity of building projects, Building Information Modelling (BIM) has been put into use at present and can be seen as the data base for the digital twin in construction industry. Therefore, in the current work, we have developed a BIM based event-oriented simulation (DES) using takt time. This simplifies the construction of digital twin. It can establish a database of digital twin in the construction industry through standardizing the IFC format. Using xBIM-Toolkit and Tool IfcConvert in Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, the modelling of IFC with UML is implemented. Software Constructivity is also applied as a Model Checker. In fact, the information of IFC model is stored in the Plant Simulation software of Siemens PLM. Its effect is to attach information as attributes to the information base of BIM model and Simulation model. Further more, the attributes of the IFC model are explicitly classified. IFC models can be built using UML diagrams, as well as simulation models can be created using flowcharts. The simulation study based on IFC model can obtain the relevant construction time by means of DES. Moreover, the determination of relevant construction time can test the optimal machine deployment plan and production strategy.
