Every construction site is unique. In contrast to the stationary industry, the construction industry is characterized by a dependency on the location of the construction site. With high demands on an efficient construction process in the construction industry, scheduling a complex construction project before and during construction is always of great importance. Based on the increasing digitization in the construction industry, digital data of a construction project, which describe the construction project in detail, are made available in real time. In practice, this data is transmitted, but rarely used. With the event-discrete simulation, a tool is available that can support the construction process in a computer-controlled manner, in which variants are played through in advance and the optimal solution can be found. Due to the advancing digitization, the event-discrete simulation can also be adapted to the dynamics of the construction industry and thus a higher flexibility can be guaranteed. The discrete event simulation must be able to import this data and then analyze the processes of a construction project. This lays the foundation for future development in order to efficiently address the steadily growing complexity of building projects with available resources, materials, work surfaces and workers.
