The aerospace evolution in the 21st century demands new functional capabilities of novel aerial vehicles. This thesis contributes three flight control function enhancements. The first functionality is automatic geofencing, which prevents the vehicle to leave defined flight areas. Secondly, the robustness assessment of MIMO closed-loop systems is elaborated for the application to new vehicle types. At last, the entire development, inclusive testing in flight, of ground control functions for automatic take-off and landing of a novel diamond-shaped UAV is shown.
