Since the middle of 20th century the synthesis of polymers increased and nowadays could be found in nearly every sector of modern life. In this research it was focused on the production of suitable monomers for a sustainable production of biopolymers. For that reason, Pseudomonas sp. was genetically modified and afterwards used as a host for the biotransformation of terpenes yielding different monomers. In the end, on of the resulting monomers was used for the synthesis of a completely bio-based polyester.
