Description:
The dataset comprises global Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) products stored in daily files (in IONEX format) and covers the days October 17 to 21, 2019. The temporal sampling of the VTEC data is 30 seconds. The spatial resolution is 5 degrees in longitude and 2.5 degrees in latitude. The dataset was generated from target parameters of the ionosphere estimated from real-time GNSS observations.
Method of data assessment:
VTEC products were generated using an approach developed for real-time modeling. This approach is based on the B-spline representation of global VTEC and incorporates carrier-phase observations from GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO into an adaptive Kalman filter to estimate target parameters of the ionosphere including the coefficients of the B-spline expansion. GNSS observations were obtained in RTCM format using the IGS real-time Service.
