Die Aktivität von neuronalen Netzwerken ist von entscheidender Bedeutung für verschiedenste Verarbeitungsvorgänge im Gehirn. So stellt die Aktivierung solcher Netzwerke einen Schlüsselmechanismus für die Verarbeitung von Umweltreizen und die anschließende Auslösung einer Verhaltensreaktion dar. Translated abstract:
The activity of neuronal networks is underlying information processing in the brain. Thus, the activation of these networks represents a key mechanism for the perception of environmental sensory stimuli and the resulting behavioural response. Here, network activity has been analysed in the mouse brain using a newly-developed optical fibre-based microendoscopy approach. Moreover, in combination with optogenetics this technique was used to influence the activity on the level of neuronal networks.
