Zu den typischen Arbeitsmitteln der Ingenieurwissenschaften gehören Dokumentations- und Kommunikationsmittel, die jeher durch die 2D-Zeichnung repräsentiert werden. Diese stellt einen Bruch im heutigen 3D-Produktentstehungsprozess insbesondere zwischen Produktentwicklung und Produktion dar. Die vorliegende Arbeit beschreibt die Entwicklung eines durchgängigen e3D-Prozesses, der als Trägermedium der technischen Produktdokumentation ein e3D-Modell verwendet. Der Informationsfluss von der Entwicklung zur Produktion wird im e3D-Prozess vollständig mittels 3D-Technologien abgedeckt. Insgesamt acht Prototypen veranschaulichen den e3D-Prozess, eine Fallstudie validiert den entwickelten e3D-Prozess und endet mit einer Wirtschaftlichkeitsbetrachtung. Das entwickelte Konzept für einen durchgängigen e3D-Prozess ermöglicht eine Verbesserung und Effizienzsteigerung des Gesamtprozesses und bietet ebenfalls Ausbaumöglichkeiten für weitere Aufgaben.     «

In engineering sciences, the means regarding documentation and communication are an important part of the common work equipment and have always been represented by 2D drawings. Today, these drawings generate a break in the current 3D product development process occurring especially between product development and production. The thesis on hand describes the development of a consistent e3D process, which is using an e3D model as the carrier of the technical product documentation. The information flow from development to production is completely covered by 3D technology. This e3D process is illustrated by eight prototypes. A case study validates the developed e3D process and closes with an economic feasibility study. The developed concept of a consistent e3D process allows an improvement and an increased efficiency of the overall process and furthermore offers possibilities of enhancements for future tasks.     «
