- Abstract:
- Die interstitiellen Zellen von Cajal sind essentiell für die Transmission von exzitatorischen und nitrergen inhibitorischen Signalen der enterischen Neuronen zu den gastrointestinalen Muskelzellen und somit für die Abstimmung der Peristaltik des Darms. Diese Studie weist erstmals unter Verwendung eines induzierbaren Mausmodells auf genetischer Ebene nach, dass eine Beeinträchtigung der Funktion dieser Zellen zu motorischen Funktionsstörungen des Magen-Darm-Trakts führt.
- Translated abstract:
- Interstitial cells of Cajal are essential for transmission of signals from enteric neurons to gastrointestinal smooth muscle cells and therefore integrate excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission with slow-wave activity to orchestrate peristaltic motor activity of the gut. This study shows for the first time at genetic level that an impairment of the function of interstitial cells of Cajal causes severe gastrointestinal motor disorders.
