Abstract:
Permissioned blockchains use coordination-based consensus protocols to execute applications safely and correctly in Byzantine distributed systems. However, coordination is a scalability bottleneck. In this work, we offer two Conflict-free Replicated Data Type-based approaches to reduce coordination in permissioned blockchains while safely executing several applications. Our evaluations demonstrate the significantly improved scalability of our approaches compared to coordination-based protocols.
