In this thesis, the optimization of thermal comfort in winter for the specific case of the listed semidetached
house Lützowstraße 16 is the central theme. At first the determining factors of comfort and monument
protection are worked out in a basic research. Through analysis, the special features of this object are
identified and optimization potentials are exposed. With the support of thermal building simulation,
competing renovation measures are compared and the results and the core ideas of monument protection
are used for evaluation. Finally, a convincing renovation concept is developed, which combines pleasant
thermal room comfort, the consumption for the provision of room heat and the monument protection
requirements in the best possible way.
This research is intended to make a contribution to the preservation of listed buildings. For these culturally
significant objects, which are characteristic of urban quarters, can only be preserved for future generations
by adapting them to today's user requirements.
