Dreidimensionale (3D) Sphäroide spiegeln aufgrund ihrer Zell-Zell-Kontakte tumorassoziierte Prozesse besser wider als 2D-Monolayerzellen. Mittels qPCR wurde die mRNA Expression verschiedener tumorrelevanter Faktoren (uPA, uPAR, PAI-1, KLK7, Rab31) in 3D versus 2D kultivierten Zellen verschiedener Tumorentitäten untersucht und in vielen Fällen eine differentielle Genexpression in den Mikrotumor-ähnlichen Sphäroiden beobachtet, was die Bedeutung von 3D-Sphäroiden in der Tumorforschung unterstreich...    »
 
Translated abstract:
Due to their three-dimensional cell-cell interactions, spheroids better reflect tumor-associated processes than 2D monolayer cells. mRNA expression of several tumor-relevant factors (uPA, uPAR, PAI-1, KLK7, Rab31) was analyzed via qPCR analysis in 3D versus 2D cultivated cells of different tumor entities. In many cases, differential gene expression was observed in microtumor-like spheroids compared to 2D- cultivated cells. The results highlight the importance of 3D spheroids in tumor research.
