- In der Studie führten 80 Patienten aus hausärztlichen und pulmologischen Praxen mit der gesicherten Diagnose Asthma bronchiale über zwölf Wochen ein Asthmatagebuch, angelehnt an das Asthma Control Questionnaire. Es wurde der Medikamentenverbrauch beobachtet und analysiert, ob mangelnde Compliance bei der Medikamenteneinnahme Grund für Exazerbationen ist. - Translated abstract:
- In this study 80 patients of general and pulmological practices with the assured diagnosis of asthma kept a asthma diary for twelve weeks which was/is based on the asthma control questionnaire. We observed the use of medication and analysed if a lack of compliance leads to exacerbations. We also tested which method is most suitable for the patient´s self-monitoring. The results of our study suggest that FEV1 can predict exacerbations more reliably than PEF.
