The thesis is about the development and application of a mathematical algorithm to calculate a topology of sports performance. The algorithm is called the ISOPAR method. Based on such a topology the ISOPAR method provides new tools for performance analysis. Using these tools the influence of constraints on performance and the performance itself of PGA Tour golfers was investigated. A subsequent study looked at spatial characteristics of attacks in field hockey and their respective outcomes.

Die Dissertation beschreibt ein mathematisches Verfahren zur Berechnung einer Topologie von sportlicher Leistung, die ISOPAR Methode, und deren Anwendung. Basierend auf solchen Topologien stellt die ISOPAR Methode neue Werkzeuge für die Wettkampfdiagnostik bereit. Mit diesen wurde der Einfluss von Constraints auf die Leistung und die Leistung selbst von PGA Tour Golfern untersucht. Eine weitere Studie analysierte räumliche Eigenschaften von Spielzügen und die jeweiligen Erfolge im Feldhockey.
