Der Betrieb von Verbrennungsmotoren in Hybridanwendungen unterliegt gänzlich anderen Randbedingungen als sie beim herkömmlichen Betrieb von Verbrennungsmotoren auftreten. Infolgedessen ergeben sich auch für die Konfiguration und die Betriebsweise des Verbrennungsmotors neue Möglichkeiten. In der Praxis werden diese bislang nur wenig genutzt. Vorliegende Arbeit untersucht daher systematisch das Zusammenspiel zwischen dem Verbrennungsmotor und dem Zusatzantrieb und leitet daraus Potentiale für den Aufbau und den Betrieb von Verbrennungsmotoren in Hybridanwendungen ab. Aufbauend auf diesen Erkenntnissen werden die Entwicklung und der Aufbau eines speziell für eine Hybridanwendung konfigurierten Verbrennungsmotors aufgezeigt.     «

The operation of internal combustion engines in hybrid drives is subject to completely different boundary conditions, compared to the operation in conventional drive trains. As a result, new options exist for the configuration and the operation mode of internal combustion engines. In practice these are rarely used. For this reason, the present work studies the interaction between the internal combustion engines and the auxiliary drive and educes potentials from it for the design and the operation mode of internal combustion engines in hybrid drives. Based on these findings, the development and design of an internal combustion engine, which is especially designed for a hybrid drive, is demonstrated.     «
