The main focus of the work is on application of optimization strategies in context of building and system simulation. The aim is to improve the performance of geothermal heat pumps in combination with thermally activated building systems (TABS). To achieve this, simulation and evaluation models for TABS and geothermal heat pump systems are developed. The results show that the developed supply water temperature control has a better system performance, than existing control strategies. An optimization study of the hydraulic system of a demonstration building shows that the most promising concept is a hydraulic layout with a reduced number of components.
