Abstract:
The multi-domain RNA Binding Motif (RBM) proteins RBM5/6/10 modulate alternative splicing of apoptosis linked pre-mRNAs. Structural mechanisms are presented for the interactions of the RBM5/6/10 OCRE domain and the spliceosomal snRNPs; and of RRM and zinc finger domains with cis-regulatory RNA elements in pre-mRNAs of target genes for which alternative splicing is controlled by RBM5.

RBM5/6/10 sind Multidomänen RNA Bindemotifproteine, die alternatives Spleißen von Apoptose assoziierten mRNAs regulieren. Die vorliegende Arbeit zeigt Einblicke in strukturelle Mechanismen der OCRE RBM5/6/10 Interaktion mit spleißosomalen snRNPs. Darüber hinaus werden die Bindung von RRMs und Zinkfingerdomänen mit cis-regulatorischen RNA-Elementen aus pre-mRNAs untersucht, die RBM5 reguliert.
