Engineering companies do not efficiently apply the knowledge they possess and understanding why requires analyzing the factors influencing knowledge application. Few studies address this issue in engineering design; nevertheless, numerous publications address it in knowledge management (KM) literature but without a consensus about the model they use for the analysis. We conducted a literature review to collect factors from KM journals and classify them in one individual-centered model of knowledge processes. We end up with 21 factors classified in a model that describes their impact on knowledge application.     «
