In blanking tools there are recurring accelerations, especially at the moment, when the sheet metal cracks. The arising oscillations can lead to reduced part quality and to an increase of wear. In this publication the influence of plates of aluminium, magnesium and carbon fibre reinforced plastic in comparison to steel in the flux of forces of high-speed stamping tools is characterised. By an analysis of the process parameters as well as the wear behaviour a positive effect of lightweight materials could be substantiated.
