Noise spectra of turbulent premixed flames are qualitatively similar to the power spectral densities of the turbulent kinetic energy. Thus, for predicting the noise production, a detailed description of the turbulent flow is necessary. In addition, the influence of chemistry can not be neglected. Two models have been developed, which produce qualitative and quantitative reliable predictions of the noise production for various flame types. The relevancy of spatial and temporal coherence and the characteristic frequency of the flame has been discussed. Experimental data have been used for the validation of the model.
