Abstract:
Preoperative mapping is of prime importance in oncological neurosurgery to avoid any kind of postoperative impairment, such as neuropsychological deficits. 20 healthy volunteers underwent navigated repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for the detection of cortical neglect-related areas. In total, the highest error rates were observed in bilateral frontal lobes (right: 35%, left: 40%). In conclusion, the mapping of neglect-related areas need further improvement in following studies.

In der Neurochirurgie ist die präoperative Kartierung des Kortex zur Vermeidung postoperativer Beeinträchtigungen von großer Bedeutung. Ziel dieser Studie war die Detektierung Neglekt assoziierter kortikaler Areal mittels navigierter repetitiver transkranieller Magnetstimulation in einer Kohorte von gesunden Probanden. Die höchsten Fehlerraten fanden sich in beiden Frontallappen (rechts: 35%, links 40%). Zusammenfassend bedarf es weiterführender Studien zur Optimierung der Methodik.
