The remaining postoperative residual tumor is the most important prognostic factor in advanced ovarian cancer . In the present work, the influence of the location and the size of the residual tumor on progression-free and overall survival was investigated. In addition, the residual tumor size was recorded in millimeters and a cut-off wanted that defines the goal of optimal operation. The complete residual tumor is associated with the best outcome for the patients , but there could be found a cut-off of 3 mm , which is also associated with the survival of the patients . Moreover, a localized residual tumor were more favorable prognosis than a disseminated.
