In der Dissertation wurde das Konsumentenverhalten beim Kauf eines privaten Gebrauchsguts am Beispiel einer Heizung untersucht. Es stand nicht die Marke einer Heizung im Fokus, sondern vielmehr die Produktart ("Ölheizung", "Gasheizung", "Pelletheizung", "Wärmepumpe"). Im Zuge der Arbeit wurde eruiert, welche Faktoren die Entscheidung des Konsumenten für ein bestimmtes Heizungssystem beeinflussen. So stellte sich z.B. heraus, dass "Ökologie" für die Käufer einer Pelletheizung vergleichsweise wichtig ist. Dagegen spielt "Ökonomie" im Vergleich eine übergeordnete Rolle beim Kauf einer Ölheizung. Bei der Interpretation der Ergebnisse dürfen die verschiedenen Einflussfaktoren allerdings nicht einzeln bewertet, sondern müssen vielmehr als Kombination betrachtet werden. Je nachdem welche Aspekte der Konsument aus der Kombination der Kaufgründe als wichtiger erachtet fällt die Entscheidung zu Gunsten eines bestimmten Heizungstypus aus.     «

The consumer behaviour concerning the purchase of a private commodity using the example of a heating system is the topic of the thesis. The focus was on the product feature („oil heating system”, „gas heating system”, „pellet heating system“, „heat pump“) and not on the brand of the heating system. It was analysed which factors influence the consumer’s decision for a certain heating system. For example the factor “ecology” is quite important for the owners of a pellet heating system in comparison to the other consumers. Against it, the factor “economy” is quite important for the purchase of an oil heating system (in comparison to the other heating systems). However it is not possible to assess a factor separately. It is rather important to look at the combination of the different influencing factors. The better a certain aspect out of this combination is evaluated, the more likely is the decision for a certain heating system.     «
