Within the scope of this thesis, the integrated evaluation of innovative pathways for renewable production of the energy carrier hydrogen is made, by considering the aspect of sustainability. By operationalising the guideline of sustainability in the context of energy supply and by adopting the concept of eco-efficiency analysis, the definition of a valuation method is possible, which enables the equal consideration of the energetic-ecological as well as the economical evaluation dimension within the analysis of the excellence of one production pathway. Based on this valuation concept, innovative pathways for a biogenic and electrolytic hydrogen production are finally considered, dynamic in time as well as competitively. In order to compare those options for hydrogen generation with alternative pathways for renewable fuel production, the balancing and the integration of defined biofuels into the relative examination is accomplished.
