Ziel der Dissertation war der Vergleich zweier moderner plugbasierter Gefäßverschlusssysteme (VCDs), dem intravaskulären FemoSeal VCD und dem extravaskulären EXOSEAL VCD, bei Patienten, die eine Koronarangiographie über die Arteria femoralis communis erhielten. Es konnte ein Trend zur Reduktion von Gefäßkomplikationen an der Punktionsstelle bei der Verwendung des FemoSeal VCD im Vergleich zum EXOSEAL VCD beobachtet werden. Darüber hinaus war die Zeit bis zur Blutstillung kürzer und ein VCD-Versagen seltener bei Anwendung des FemoSeal VCD verglichen mit dem EXOSEAL VCD.     «

The aim of this dissertation was the comparison of two contemporary vascular closure devices (VCDs), the intravascular FemoSeal VCD and the extravascular EXOSEAL VCD, in patients undergoing coronary angiography via the common femoral artery. The FemoSeal VCD was associated with a trend towards a reduction in vascular access-site complications compared to the EXOSEAL VCD. Moreover, time-to-hemostasis was shorter and closure device failure lower in patients assigned to the FemoSeal VCD compared to the EXOSEAL VCD.     «
