Kurzfassung:
For the current goal of expanding into the solar system, environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) are required for humans to survive the hostile environments of deep space. To support this goal, biological subsystems can produce food and close the carbon loop. These subsystems include algae, microbes and higher plants which can complement the current physical/chemical systems to create hybrid ECLSS. In this thesis a simulation tool for hybrid ECLSS that can perform dynamic, holistic, system-level simulations is developed.
