- Abstract:
- This dissertation scrutinizes international technical standard-setting with a focus on the participation of stakeholders. Using the International Electrotechnical Commission as a case study, this dissertation examines how and under what conditions stakeholders participate in standard setting. The findings offer a framework that fully appreciates the effect of the national industrial-specific capability and show that participation continues to involve traditional power-bargaining dynamics.

- Diese Dissertation untersucht die internationale Normung. Anhand des Fallbeispiels der International Electrotechnical Commission wird untersucht, wie und unter welchen Bedingungen sich die Interessengruppen an der Normung beteiligen. Die Ergebnisse bieten einen Rahmen, der die Auswirkungen der nationalen industrie-spezifischen Fähigkeiten in vollem Umfang berücksichtigt und zeigen, dass die Beteiligung nach wie vor mit der traditionellen Dynamik von Machtauseinandersetzungen verbunden ist.
