Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with the value of information in control of cyber-physical systems. We develop a unified theoretical framework in the context of linear quadratic Gaussian control for the maximization of the control performance subject to different constraints that restrict the information flow in the system. The results have implications for decision making in causal systems with applications in aerospace, robotics, and healthcare.

Diese Doktorarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Informationswert in der Regelung von cyber-physischen Systemen. Ein theoretischer Rahmen in Form eines LQG-Reglers wird entwickelt, und die Reglergüte unter verschiedenen Limitierungen in dem Informationsfluss des Systems wird maximiert. Die Ergebnisse haben Auswirkungen auf die Entscheidungsfindung in kausalen Systemen mit Anwendungen in der Luft- und Raumfahrt, Robotik und im Gesundheitswesen.
