- Neben Motorik und Sprache kartieren spezialisierte Zentren nun auch höhere kognitive Funktionen wie das Rechnen. 26 Patienten mit parietalen Hirntumoren wurden in die Studie eingeschlossen und eine präoperative nrTMS von 52 vordefinierten Punkten durchgeführt. Die Studie zeigt eine Korrelation der rechenpositiven Punkte in 15 von 18 Fällen (83%). Daraus ergibt sich, dass die nrTMS eine geeignete Methodik zur präoperativen Kartierung der Rechenfunktion bei parietalen Hirntumoren darstellt.
- Translated abstract:
- Besides of motor skills and language, specialized centers are now mapping higher cognitive functions such as arithmetic. 26 patients with parietal brain tumors were included in the study and a preoperative nrTMS of 52 predefined points was performed. The study shows a correlation of the calculation-positive points in 15 of 18 cases (83%). It can be concluded that the nrTMS is a suitable method for preoperative mapping of the arithmetic function in patients with parietal brain tumors.
