In dieser retrospektiven Studie wurden Daten von Kindern mit Noonan-Syndrom und hypertropher Kardiomyopathie (N-HCM) mit Daten von Kindern mit familiärer, nicht syndromaler hypertropher Kardiomyopathie verursacht durch Mutationen in Strukturproteinen des Sarkomers (S-HCM), verglichen. Dabei präsentierten sich N-HCM-Patienten im Vergleich zu S-HCM-Patienten initial mit einer höheren Morbidität im frühen Krankheitsverlauf, haben jedoch ein günstigeres Langzeitergebnis mit relativer Regression der myokardialen Hypertrophie sowie einer niedrigeren Rate an ICD-Implantationen.

In this retrospective study, data were collected and compared between children with Noonan syndrome and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (N-HCM) and children with familial, non-syndromic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy caused by mutations in structural proteins of the sarcomere (S-HCM). N-HCM patients initially presented with higher morbidity during the early course of the disease compared to S-HCM patients, but they showed favorable long-term outcome with a relative regression of myocardial hypertrophy and a lower rate of ICD-implantation.
