Abstract:
The thesis addresses the research challenges of leveraging novel networking techniques, i.e., Software-Defined Networking and Programmable Data Plane, to manage the control and data plane under dynamic networking scenarios and increase the flexibility of the network. The theoretical contribution involves modeling and mathematical optimization of controller placement, and the practical contribution provides prototype implementation and performance measurement of the P4 data plane.

Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit den Herausforderungen der Nutzung neuartiger Netzmechanismen wie Software-Defined Networking und Programmable Data Plane, um die Steuerungs- und Datenebene unter dynamischen Szenarien zu verwalten und die Flexibilität des Netzes zu erhöhen. Der theoretische Beitrag beschreibt die Modellierung und mathematische Optimierung der Controller-Platzierung. Der praktische Beitrag umfasst prototypische Implementierungen und Leistungsmessung der P4-Datenebene.
