Diese Arbeit konzentriert sich auf die Herrenhäuser der östlichen Oberlausitz vom Anfang des 16. Jh. bis 1635. Die Bau- nebst Archivforschung erlaubt eine Analyse mit umfassender Betrachtung. Untersuchungsgegenstand ist das Haus, gesehen im Kontext der Gutsanlage, dessen innere Hausaufteilung unter funktionellem und formellem Aspekt analysiert wird, ebenso wie Baudetails und Ausstattung, die mit Vergleichsbeispielen aus Schlesien, Böhmen und Brandenburg in einen breiteren Kontext gestellt werden. Dadurch werden Baugeschichte und Baukultur der Herrenhäuser, auch aus denkmalpflegerischer Sicht, dokumentiert und analysiert.     «

This study focuses on manor houses in Upper Lusatia from the beginning of the 16th century to 1635. The methods of building archaeology supported by archival research allowed a comprehensive analysis, from the estate outline, through inner layout of the houses, in both functional and formal aspects, to architectural details and furnishing. These aspects of building culture were put in a wide context with examples from i. a. Silesia, Bohemia and Brandenburg. As a result, the construction history and building culture of these estates were documented, portrayed, and analysed, also including the preservation issues.     «
