Abstract:
Active Surveillance (AS) als Therapieoption bei intermediate-risk (IR) Prostatakarzinom wird aktuell diskutiert. Bei 5.693 Patienten wurde das Langzeitüberleben potenzieller AS Kandidaten untersucht (medianes Follow-Up: 9,30 Jahre). In der low-risk und der favorable-IR Gruppe war das Überleben vergleichbar, in der unfavorable-IR Gruppe im Vergleich deutlich schlechter (p<0,001). Ungünstigere histopathologische Parameter wie die Tumorausbreitung und der Gleason-Score waren mit schlechterem Überleben assoziiert (p<0,05).

Active surveillance (AS) for intermediate-risk (IR) prostate cancer as a therapy option is currently being discussed. The long-term survival of potential AS candidates was investigated in 5,693 patients (median follow-up: 9,30 years). Survival was comparable in the low-risk and the favorable-IR group, but significantly worse in the unfavorable-IR group (p <0.001). Worse histopathological parameters such as tumor expansion and Gleason score were associated with worse survival (p <0.05).
