Abstract:
In this work, a framework for the crashworthiness design for the Small Overlap Frontal load case introduced by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety was developed. The framework combines systems engineering with novel physics- and statistics-based methodologies to produce efficient and robust solutions. The methodology is validated with a Small Overlap Frontal hardware test and is applied to a full-vehicle finite element model to improve design robustness.

In dieser Arbeit wurde ein Rahmen für die Auslegung der Crashsicherheit für den vom Insurance Institute for Highway Safety eingeführten Lastfall Small Overlap Frontal entwickelt. Der Rahmen kombiniert Systemtechnik mit neuartigen physikalischen und statistischen Methoden, um effiziente und robuste Lösungen zu entwickeln. Die Methodik wird mit einem Small Overlap Frontal-Hardwaretest validiert und auf ein Finite-Elemente-Modell des Gesamtfahrzeugs angewendet, um die Robustheit zu verbessern.
