The ultrasonic measurement of the intima-media thickness depends on the time of measurement in cardiac cycle, the location and the angle on the vessel during measurement and the examiner. The aim of this study was to compare an ultrasound device for such measurements which works semi-automatically with a device which works fully automatically.
