- Abstract:
- I showed that loss of Roquin proteins results in the absence of germinal center B cells and a reduction in class-switched antibody-producing cells during a primary immune response. Roquin 1 is required for adequate somatic hypermutation and affinity maturation of germinal center B cells. In vitro analyses indicate that Roquin-deficient cells are unable to participate in germinal center responses due to cell apoptosis and inability to adapt metabolically.
