- Der Einsatz einer perioperativen Antibiotikaprophylaxe (PAP) stellt ein wirksames Mittel dar, um die Entstehung postoperativer Wundinfektionen (PWIs) zu vermindern. Es herrscht jedoch Unklarheit über die optimale Dauer der verabreichten Medikation. - The use of a perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis (PAP) is an effective method to prevent surgical site infections (SSIs). The optimal duration of the antibiotics is, however, still controversial. This study compares different PAP regimes (less than 24h vs. more than 24h) in breast cancer patients undergoing implant-based breast reconstruction, analyses the development of SSIs, and identifies possible risk factors.
